Participating in 2014 International Conference of ICH NGOs: towards Efficient Roles of NGOs for Safeguarding ICH in the Asia-Pacific Region
Dr. Heekyung Choi, Secretary General, was invited as a panelist, at the 2014 International Conference of ICH NGOs held in Jeonju, Republic of Korea, from June 26 to 27. The Conference was held to discuss on the efficient roles of NGOs for safeguarding ICH in the Asia-Pacific Region and about 100 people from NGOs from various regions participated. Dr. Choi pointed “empowering ICH NGOs as catalyst for sustainable development” as discussion for the “vitalization of Intangible heritage NGOs as a Catalyst for sustainable Development”.
During the conference, ICCN and its network and especially ICCN festival received great attention from participants as the realization of ICH and local sustainable local development. As a result, it is expected to have new candidate members or to build partnership with other NGOs in Asia-pacific region with ICCN.
