International Congress "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in Spain" (Elche, Spain, 27-28 October, 2011)
Organized by the Mistery Play of Elche Chair of the Miguel Hernández University of Elche, in cooperation, among other institutions, of two ICCN members (the Valencian regional Government and the Centre for Traditional Culture - School Museum of Pusol), the congress is aimed at disseminating the principles and objectives of UNESCO's Convention for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage and showing the richness and diversity of the Spanish ICH. All Spanish elements inscribed on the Convention lists as well as the projects inscribed in the Register of best safeguarding practices will be represented, along with the Spanish nominations that will be evaluated in November 2011 by the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. Proceedings will take place in Spanish.
